This is Erik, a Senior Product Designer based in San Diego, California. I specialize in bringing together business strategy, user experience, and technology to create impactful design solutions. As a design generalist, my goal is to harmonize these elements to elevate every project I work on. While I enjoy moving rectangles pixel by pixel in Figma, I'm truly passionate about the early steps of product strategy. Working collaboratively with my colleagues, discussing ideas in front of a whiteboard (sadly, a virtual one nowadays), is what I love the most.

My path to design has been diverse and rewarding. While teaching at the university, I completed a PhD in UX, which included working in a research lab on complex industrial interfaces. This experience gave me a deep understanding of user behavior, design intricacies, and the importance of learning about not just the users, but also the products and processes behind them.

Eager to be part of the fast-paced and dynamic world of technology and design, I transitioned into a UX design agency. There, I had the chance to work on a variety of projects for major brands, helping them bring their ideas to life. Eventually, I ventured into freelancing, partnering with early-stage startups.
